Prions aren't all evil, might be a missing link of sorts

http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg21328524.800-prions-point-to-a-new-style-of-evolution.html

Evolution has always been a bit questionable, how can it happen so fast?    How can random events select better critters, so fast, without many big wipeouts.

The article explains a way in which DNA can "test drive" a new evolutionary feature, quickly adapting to a new environment, without changing the actual DNA.    Wearing a pair of rose colored sunglasses called Prions.

Check it out.

New Moon

Just noticed, new moon.

Market has not been in sync with moon for, well, many moons.

Eventually it will come back in sync.   Will this be the one?

Futures so Bright

Coin a Phrase 3P's Power, Privledge, Pension

Do not call them Elites, they are not Elite, they are smart because they got us working our asses off for them.    They are the powers that be

TPTB, and they are after their PPP--Power, Privilege, Pension.   They will do anything, they will go to the wall, to maintain their PPP.    It should get worse in a "Blow off top".

If you threaten their PPP, you are an enemy of TPTB.

Animal Spirits

The Grand Game of Perception Management (February 16, 2012)

The economy will expand if you believe it is expanding--because you'll be "animal spirited" into buying a lot of stuff on credit that you can't afford.

It all boils down to perception--that's the insight at the heart of the Grand Game of Perception Management. Economists speak of magical "animal spirits" that fuel economic expansion, but this is simply a colorful term for perception management: when people perceive others reaping outsized gains in profits or pleasure from taking risky bets and freely spending borrowed money, then they will feel an overpowering urge to follow the herd and leverage their capital (if any) and disposable income (if any) into risky bets and zealous over-consumption, i.e. "animal spirits."

HT:
Of importance here also is advertising ease of collection of what really works to get the "best of humans". With things like grocery store "club cards" they know very well what you are buying at what price in reaction to actions they took. The whole social media boom, will one day be seen as a very evil thing. It puts the actions of humans out in the domain of HAL 20000 that can easily data mine crowd reactions for crowd control.
